Shared Zebra Printer Setup

A Zebra Printer can be used to print tickets from the POS. Tickets are customizable and can be used as gift cards, game packs, promotional offers or rain checks. To learn more about using tickets, see the section on the Ticket System in Learning and Support. 

 

Step 1: Install the Printer Drivers

Download the printer driver from www.zebra.com. Make sure to pick the correct model as well as the correct operating system and correct 32 bit / 64 bit. . 

  1. Make sure the printer is NOT powered on before you start.
  2. Double Click on the downloaded file.
  3. Extract the files to the defaulted folder and click Next.
  4. After prompt to "Install Printer" choose the correct model of printer.
  5. Choose USB port and click continue. This will complete the driver installation.
  6. You do not need to install the "Font Downloader". Click Cancel.
  7. Turn the printer on and the installation will complete. Continue to next section.

 

Step 2: Setting the Printing Preferences

These settings are based on the recommended ticket size 3.25" x 4". If your tickets are a different size please adjust the paper size you enter in the printing preferences. 

  1. Click Start
  2. Click Devices and Printers
  3. Right click on the zebra printer.
  4. Select Printing Preferences
  5. Expand the Paper/Output listing.
  6. Click User Defined beside Paper Size.
  7. Click Customize
  8. For the Unit of Measurement, select Inches from the drop-down.
  9. For the Paper Sizes, type in the width of 3.25 and height 3.9.
  10. Click Ok
  11. Expand the Media Settings listing.
  12. Click Media Tracking
  13. Select Use Label Gaps from the drop-down.
  14. Expand the Device Options listing.
  15. Expand the Head Settings listing.
  16. Set the Print Darkness option to the darkest setting available.
  17. Click Ok

 

Step 3: Print a Test Page

After installing the printer and setting the printer preferences for your tickets, you will need to print a Windows test page to confirm a successful installation.

  1. Click Start
  2. Click Devices and Printers
  3. Right click on the zebra printer.
  4. Select Properties
  5. Click Print Test Page

 

Step 4: Share the Printer on the Network

Printer sharing allows multiple computers or devices that are connected to the same network access a single printer. For example, your club can have a single zebra printer that is accessed by multiple proshop computers. 

 

To share a zebra printer on the network follow the steps below:

  1. Click Start
  2. Click Devices and Printers
  3. Right click on the printer being setup.
  4. Select Sharing
  5. Check the radial beside ‘Share this Printer’.
  6. Type in a unique Share Name.
  7. Click Ok

 

Step 5: Set the Printer in the Point of Sale

After the Zebra printer is setup and printing a test page on your computer you will need to add it to your POS. These settings are based on the recommended ticket size 3.25" x 4". If your tickets are a different size please adjust the paper size you enter when adding the printer. 

  1. Click Admin
  2. Click Printer Setup
  3. Click Add Printer
  4. Uncheck the box beside ‘Line Mode’. 
  5. Enter a Name for the printer. 
  6. Select the printer path from the drop-down. 
  7. Select the printer’s model from the drop-down. 
  8. Click Configure Size
  9. Type in 3.25"for the width and type in 3.9" for the height. 
  10. Click Ok   
  11. Click Ok
  12. Click Save
