Shared Kitchen and Bar Printer Setup

Your POS can be setup to print to 4 different printers - a receipt printer, two different kitchen printers (for example hot and cold station) and a bar printer. To setup one of these printers, follow the steps below.

Step 1: Install Printer Drivers

See the video for instructions on installing printer drivers.

Step 2: Print a Test Page

After installing the printer on your computer you will need to print a Windows test page to confirm a successful installation.

  1. Click Start
  2. Click Devices and Printers
  3. Right click on the printer you are installing.
  4. Select Properties
  5. Click Print Test Page

Step 3: Share the Printer on the Network

Printer sharing allows multiple computers or devices that are connected to the same network access a single printer. For example, most clubs have a shared kitchen printer that can be accessed from multiple computers.

To share a receipt printer on the network follow the steps below:

  1. Click Start
  2. Click Devices and Printers
  3. Right click on the printer being setup.
  4. Select Sharing
  5. Check the radial beside Share this Printer
  6. Type in a unique Share Name.
  7. Click Ok
  8. Restart the POS to allow it to pick up the change to the printer.

Step 4: Set the Printer in the Point of Sale

Next, you will need to add the printer to your Point of Sale's setup:

  1. Click Admin
  2. Click Printer Setup
  3. Select either Local or Shared from the drop-down depending on how you setup the printer on your computer.
  4. Select the printer you installed from the printer drop-down.
  5. Select the printer's brand from the drop-down.

Step 5: Set the Receipt Width

The last step in setting up your receipt printer is to set your printer's receipt width in the Point of Sale to ensure the receipts print properly.

  1. Click Set Receipt Width
  2. Select the printer from the drop-down.
  3. Click Configure Printer
  4. The printer will print a receipt with a string of numbers. Select the last number on the first line from the drop-down.
  5. Click Ok
  6. The printer will print a second receipt with a string of numbers. Select the last number on the first line from the drop-down.
  7. Click Ok
  8. Click Save
