Setting up a Tablet for Use on the Beverage Cart (Full Point of Sale)

This is the case where the Tablet is using cellular to get back to a computer/workstation at the clubhouse.

For use on the Beverage Cart, there are 3 options:

  1. A dedicated machine in the clubhouse that can be used for the Beverage Cart.
  2. If the club has a Windows 10/11 machine as the server that is not used as a POS client or as a desktop for other business use (e.g. accounting) at the club.
  3. If your club has a Server Class machine as their server, they should be able to configure a remote desktop session to this machine.

Install the POS client with name C:\Program Files\TeeOn\PointOfSaleBeverageCart. Optionally, just use the client that may already be configured on this Computer.

Install and configure Splashtop Business on the Tablet:

  1. Set up a Splashtop Business Account
  2. Download the Splashtop Business App from the App Store on the iPad & Google Play Store on Android Tablets.
  3. Open the App and configure.
  4. Install Splashtop Streamer on the Computer with the POS Client you will connect to and register the Computer.

You are ready to use the POS:

  1. Open the Splashtop Business App
  2. Click on the desktop you configured. It will auto logon.
  3. You should see the icon for the POS that this tablet should be using.
  4. Double Click it to open.

Notes:

  1. This solution does not currently have the ability to integrate with payment terminals.
  2. This solution does not provide the ability to print receipts from the Tablet. The POS already provides the ability to email receipts which can be used when a customer requests a receipt.
  3. This solution makes it pretty simple to swap Tablets in and out with very little setup. All the POS client and printer setup is done on a Windows computer, is done once and does not have to be redone when replacing a tablet.
  4. Alternatives to this setup
    • Configure VPN into the clubhouse and connect the tablet through the VPN connection. Use the instructions for setting up a tablet in the restaurant. This is more complicated to setup and requires an IT company.
