Performing a Refund
When performing a refund you have two options - either search for the item(s) by transaction or browse for a specific item in your inventory. The ability to perform a refund is permission based and can be performed from the Sales Screen or the Transaction Viewer.
Transaction Viewer: Search by Transaction
When performing a refund from the Transaction Viewer, you have the option to 'Search by Transaction'. This is useful for staff who have access to the transaction viewer and when you know the transaction ID for the original purchase. The transaction ID will be included on the top left side of the customer's receipt.
- Click Admin
- Click Transaction Viewer
- Select the transaction you want to refund from.
- Select the items from the transaction that you would like to refund. To select more than one item click and hold the CTRL key on your keyboard and then select the items and click Refund.
- If you want to refund the transaction to a payment type that is different than how the item(s) were originally purchased, click Alternate Payment Type. Otherwise, click Ok.
