Moneris Core Semi-Integrated is a function that allows you to easily integrate your Moneris terminal with your Point of Sale (POS) application creating a secure and convenient payment environment for you and your customers.
Features
With Moneris Core Semi-Integrated, you can use your secure PCI-compliant terminal to:
- Allow customers to enter their payment card information by tapping, inserting, or swiping their card
- Allow customers to enter a tip on the terminal, including tipping on the final dollar amount or on the pre-tax subtotal (when configured)
Semi-Integration Method
WiFi - This method uses your local Wi-Fi network to connect to your Moneris terminal to your POS.
Important: Cellular communication (4G) must be disabled. If your wireless terminal switches to a cellular network, the connection to your POS will be lost.
Setting up Core Semi-Integrated on your Terminal
- Tap Settings
- Tap Application
- Tap Integration
- Tap the Integration toggle to enable integration
- The integration toggle becomes green and the Solution Type field appears.
- Tap the Solution Type field and select Core Semi-Integrated
- Tap the Integration Method and then choose WiFi. (Important: Cellular (4G) communication must be disabled. If your wireless terminal switches to a cellular network, the connection to your POS will be lost.)
- To Disable cellular communication and to enable WiFi communication, refer to Setting up a WiFi connection on your Terminal
- To implement WiFi integration, your Moneris terminal and your POS must be on the same network.
- Tap the Listening Port field and change the default port number to 5110
- Tap the Print on terminal toggle and disable support for printing receipts on the terminal. All receipts should print from the POS Printer.
- Tap Save
- After you tap Save, the terminal returns to the Application Settings menu. The "Settings Saved" notification also appears.
- The terminal returns to the Main menu
Setting Up a WiFi Connection on your Terminal
- On the Main Menu, tap Settings
- On the Settings menu, tap Communication
- On the Communication menu, tap Communication Setup
- Tap the Cellular toggle to disable it
- Tap the WiFi toggle to enable WiFi. The Scan Networks option appears
- Tap Scan Networks to search for available WiFi networks. The terminal displays a list of networks found
- Tap the network you would like to connect to
- Tap the WiFi password field and enter the password, then tap OK
- Tap Save to connect to the selected network
- Press the green key multiple times until you return to the Communication Setup menu
- Press the
key to return to the Main Menu
Set the IP Address to Static
(This information can be found by opening a command prompt and typing ipconfig /all)
- From the Main Menu tap Settings
- Tap Communication
- Tap Communication Setup
- Tap Saved Networks
- Tap your network
- Tap Advanced Settings
- Tap IP Address Type and choose Static IP
- Tap IP Address and enter the IP Address for this Moneris Terminal
- Tap Subnet Mask and enter the Subnet Mask
- Tap Gateway and enter the Gateway
- Tap Primary DNS and make sure the DNS is Correct
- Tap Secondary DNS and make sure the DNS is correct
- Click Save
Configure Payment Terminal Integration in the POS
- From your Point of Sale click Admin
- Click Payment Terminal
- Check off "This register has an integrated payment terminal"
- Choose Moneris - D/M 5000 from the drop-down beside Terminal Type
- Type in the Terminal Address (Static IP Address)
- Type "5110" in the Terminal Port Number
- Click Additional/More Settings
- Type "Tee On" for the ECR ID
- Enter your Merchant ID (Starts with 0030)
- Enter Config Code "C000178SI"
- Type in your Terminal ID. This can be found by going to Settings > Communication > Communication Setup > Terminal Management
- Leave API Token and API Version blank.
- Click Ok
- Click Test Connection
- If everything is set up correctly you will get a Connection Successful message.
Turn off Cardholder Choice
- From the Main menu Tap Settings
- Tap Quick Setup
- Tap Receipt
- Tap Cardholder Choice and make sure its disabled
Set the Time Out
- From the Main menu Tap Settings
- Tap Miscellaneous
- Tap Idle Timeout
- Set the Idle Timeout to 60 seconds
Reboot the Terminal
- Press and Hold the

buttons until the terminal reboots.
Toggle to Standalone Mode
- To toggle back to standalone mode, on the Main Menu swipe left to view the second screen
