Moneris Core Semi-Integrated is a function that allows you to easily integrate your Moneris terminal with your Point of Sale (POS) application creating a secure and convenient payment environment for you and your customers. 

 

Features

 

With Moneris Core Semi-Integrated, you can use your secure PCI-compliant terminal to:

  • Allow customers to enter their payment card information by tapping, inserting, or swiping their card
  • Allow customers to enter a tip on the terminal, including tipping on the final dollar amount or on the pre-tax subtotal (when configured)

Semi-Integration Method

 

WiFi - This method uses your local Wi-Fi network to connect to your Moneris terminal to your POS. 

Important: Cellular communication (4G) must be disabled. If your wireless terminal switches to a cellular network, the connection to your POS will be lost.

 

Setting up Core Semi-Integrated on your Terminal

  1. Tap Settings
  2. Tap Application
  3. Tap Integration
  4. Tap the Integration toggle to enable integration
  5. The integration toggle becomes green and the Solution Type field appears.
  6. Tap the Solution Type field and select Core Semi-Integrated
  7. Tap the Integration Method and then choose WiFi. (Important: Cellular (4G) communication must be disabled. If your wireless terminal switches to a cellular network, the connection to your POS will be lost.)
  8. To Disable cellular communication and to enable WiFi communication, refer to Setting up a WiFi connection on your Terminal
  9. To implement WiFi integration, your Moneris terminal and your POS must be on the same network.
  10. Tap the Listening Port field and change the default port number to 5110
  11. Tap the Print on terminal toggle and disable support for printing receipts on the terminal. All receipts should print from the POS Printer.
  12. Tap Save
  13. After you tap Save, the terminal returns to the Application Settings menu. The "Settings Saved" notification also appears.
  14. The terminal returns to the Main menu

 

Setting Up a WiFi Connection on your Terminal

 

  1. On the Main Menu, tap Settings
  2. On the Settings menu, tap Communication
  3. On the Communication menu, tap Communication Setup
  4. Tap the Cellular toggle to disable it
  5. Tap the WiFi toggle to enable WiFi. The Scan Networks option appears
  6. Tap Scan Networks to search for available WiFi networks. The terminal displays a list of networks found
  7. Tap the network you would like to connect to
  8. Tap the WiFi password field and enter the password, then tap OK
  9. Tap Save to connect to the selected network
  10. Press the green key multiple times until you return to the Communication Setup menu
  11. Press the mceclip1.png key to return to the Main Menu

 

Set the IP Address to Static

 

(This information can be found by opening a command prompt and typing ipconfig /all)

  1. From the Main Menu tap Settings
  2. Tap Communication
  3. Tap Communication Setup
  4. Tap Saved Networks
  5. Tap your network
  6. Tap Advanced Settings
  7. Tap IP Address Type and choose Static IP
  8. Tap IP Address and enter the IP Address for this Moneris Terminal
  9. Tap Subnet Mask and enter the Subnet Mask
  10. Tap Gateway and enter the Gateway
  11. Tap Primary DNS and make sure the DNS is Correct
  12. Tap Secondary DNS and make sure the DNS is correct
  13. Click Save

 

Configure Payment Terminal Integration in the POS

 

  1. From your Point of Sale click Admin
  2. Click Payment Terminal
  3. Check off "This register has an integrated payment terminal"
  4. Choose Moneris - D/M 5000  from the drop-down beside Terminal Type
  5. Type in the Terminal Address (Static IP Address)
  6. Type "5110" in the Terminal Port Number
  7. Click Additional/More Settings
  8. Type "Tee On" for the ECR ID
  9. Enter your Merchant ID (Starts with 0030)
  10. Enter Config Code "C000178SI"
  11. Type in your Terminal ID. This can be found by going to  Settings Communication Communication Setup Terminal Management
  12. Leave API Token and API Version blank.
  13. Click Ok
  14. Click Test Connection
  15. If everything is set up correctly you will get a Connection Successful message.

 

Turn off Cardholder Choice

  1. From the Main menu Tap Settings
  2. Tap Quick Setup
  3. Tap Receipt
  4. Tap Cardholder Choice and make sure its disabled

 

Set the Time Out

  1. From the Main menu Tap Settings
  2. Tap Miscellaneous 
  3. Tap Idle Timeout
  4. Set the Idle Timeout to 60 seconds

 

Reboot the Terminal

  1. Press and Hold the mceclip0.png mceclip2.png  buttons until the terminal reboots.

 

Toggle to Standalone Mode

  1. To toggle back to standalone mode, on the Main Menu swipe left to view the second screen
  2. Tap Standalone
