Moneris iPP320 Setup
Moneris will configure the payment terminal itself and they will also install the driver required on the computer that the terminal will be connected to.
The drivers can be downloaded at https://esqa.moneris.com/connect/en/download/drivers (can also do a google search for Moneris drivers), choose "IPP320 USB Driver" and download as a zip.
Note: Drivers for i3070 are not available anymore (only IPP320 terminals are being sent out new)
When the terminal is connected to the computer it will power up. It will go through a number of screens and end up on a screen that will say either “WELCOME/BONJOUR” or "init req". This should take 15 to 20 seconds. If the terminal does not get to this screen you will need to contact Moneris for support
IMPORTANT: This terminal gets its power from the USB connection. You should not plug the terminal into a USB hub. It should be connected directly into a USB port on the computer
- To configure the integration login to the Point of Sale client. Then click on “ADMIN” and then click on “Payment Terminal Config” button.
- Check the box beside “This register has an integrated payment terminal”.
- From the Terminal Type drop-down choose “Moneris”.

- For Terminal port – you will need to go to device manager to find what port the payment terminal was assigned. A virtual COM port was created for the pinpad during the installation of the driver. To look up the COM port number:
For model i3070
Control Panel - system - hardware - device manager - ports (The device will be listed under Ports with the name “CP210x USB to UART bridge (COM #)”)
For model IPP320
Control Panel - System - Hardware - Device Manager - Ports (The device will be listed under Ports with the name “Sagen Telium Comm Port” - right click and choose properties, then choose port settings and then choose advanced. The port number will be on this screen.
If you want the payment terminal to prompt the customer for a gratuity check the box next to “Prompt for gratuity on purchase transactions”
- Click on “Test Connection”. The payment terminal should display “Please Wait” and should stay like that for about 60 seconds. A message box will pop up after that indicating if the test was successful
- If the test connection was successful than click “OK”
- If the test connection was not successful click verify the settings you chose for each field. If they are correct click “OK”
- Close the Point of Sale and unplug the payment terminal from the computer. Wait 10 seconds and plug payment terminal back into the computer. Wait until you see “Welcome/Bonjour” and than start the Point of Sale Client and login. You should see the terminal display “Please Wait” for about 60 seconds before it goes back to “Wecome/Bonjour”. It may take several seconds before the message appears.
If the “Please Wait” does not appear and stay on the screen or it appears briefly and disappears then there is still a problem with the integration. Please call Tee-on at 519-434-7877 ex. 1 for assistance.
If this is a payment terminal that has just been installed then Moneris may not have activated the terminal yet – the Client.log in the POS may have a response code of 109 from our test connection. Call Moneris to make sure terminal has been activated on their end.
