It is a requirement that the server computer is connected to a battery backup with surge protection and software (usually included with the battery backup) that is configured to auto-shutdown the server computer if the power does not come back on.

USB Ports: 5 to 7 - Typically used for keyboard, mouse, scanner, receipt printer, payment terminal, and laser printer. You may be using wireless versions of some of these, so the required number can vary. It is easy to get a wireless keyboard and mouse.
*If buying a desktop then a monitor will also need to be purchased*
Touchscreen Monitor: ELO 20 inch or bigger
If you are buying an all-in-one computer, make sure it is a sturdy build. Some of the cheaper ones will have a bounce to them when touching the screen which means they are most likely not very durable.
Tablets
Windows Tablets
- Must be running a full version of the Microsoft Operating system (usually Windows 8 Professional/Home or Windows 10/11 Professional/Home).
- Most of the big manufacturers are selling Windows-based tablets.
Common Windows tablets in use are:
- Microsoft Surface Go
- Microsoft Surface Pro
iPads
- Most iPads will work as long as you can download Microsoft Remote Desktop from the app store (Requires the tablet to be running iOS 13.0 or newer). Some older iPads may not support it.
- iPad Mini works best
Android Tablets
- Most Android tablets will work as long as you can download Microsoft Remote Desktop from the Google Play Store. Some of the cheaper tablets aren't supported. Most Samsung tablets will work.
Tablets for the Beverage Cart
- If you are purchasing a tablet for the beverage cart you need to make sure the tablet has cellular.
Using Older Equipment
We do have customers running their POS clients (NOT their Servers) on older computers with acceptable performance. The problems that are most likely to occur are more frequent failures of hardware and operating system components. These clients also run slower than newer machines.
Using Unsupported Operating Systems
Tee On will run on unsupported operating systems. Tee On may not support workstations that are having issues running an unsupported operating system. Issues may involve drivers for peripherals (printers etc.) that are no longer supported by the manufacturer on unsupported OS’s.
