Electronic Gift Certificates

Creating an Electronic Gift Certificate

  1. From your Point of Sale, click Admin
  2. Choose Gift Certificates
  3. Click Add
  4. Give the Gift Certificate a Description and a Dollar Value and click Ok.

Format the Gift Certificate to Send an Email when the Item is Purchased

  1. Click Edit Gift Certificate Content
  2. Check off the box beside Send email when sold in store.
  3. If you are selling gift certificates in your online store make sure Send email when sold online is checked off. 
  4. Click Ok

Default Email Graphic

To add your own Email Graphic for Gift Certificates:

  1. Click Default Email Graphic
  2. Browse for your graphic in your computers files, select the graphic and then click Open.
  3. Your graphic will now show up when the gift certificate is sold and emailed. 

Selling the Electronic Gift Certificate

  1. From the Sales Screen in your Point of Sale, select customers profile by clicking Select Customer and then searching for the customer. You may also sell the item to a guest if they don't have a customer profile. 
  2. Choose the Gift Certificate item or click Gift Certificate Sale. 
  3. Type in the Amount for the Gift Certificate. 
  4. Make sure the box beside Auto Generate is checked. You may also enter in your own number if you choose. 
  5. Enter in the customers information if you are selling it to a guest, or click Choose Existing Customer if you forgot to select the customers profile. 
  6. Click Ok when you have the required information. (Email is required) 
  7. Process the transaction by selecting the Payment Type. The gift certificate will be sent in a PDF format once the transaction has been processed. 

Redeeming the Electronic Gift Certificate (From a Customers Profile)

  1. From the Sales Screen in your Point of Sale, select the customer with the gift certificate by clicking Select Customer. 
  2. Select or scan the items to be purchased with the gift certificate. 
  3. Select the Gift Certificate payment type.
  4. If you have your POS set to virtually redeem gift certificates, you may select the gift certificate and click Ok. 
  5. Otherwise, scan the barcode on the electronic gift certificate or type in the ID and click Ok. 

Turn on the Setting to Redeem the Gift Card Virtually

  1. From your Point of Sale, click Admin
  2. Click Manage & Upgrade POS
  3. Check off the setting for Allow redemption of tickets without the tickets being present. This is per register, so if you are using multiple registers it must be turned on for each one. 
  4. You may also check off the setting for Automatically show points and tickets when choosing a customer. When you choose your customer, their points and tickets/gift certificates will pop up on the screen.  

Redeeming the Electronic Gift Certificate (Guest)

  1. Select or scan the items to be purchased with the gift certificate.
  2. Select the Gift Certificate payment type.
  3. Scan the barcode on the electronic gift certificate or type in the ID and click Ok.
