Creating Customer Types and POS Categories

Customer Types

 

Customer types are added through the online side of Tee On at teeon.com. If your club is utilizing the Booking Categories to restrict certain types of customers from booking into certain tee times, please see the page on Creating Customer Types Using Booking Categories. 

  1. Click Administration
  2. Click Customer Types
  3. Click Edit Customer Types
  4. Click Add        
  5. Type in a Name for the customer type.
  6. Click Save

Continue this process until you have added all of your customer types.

 

POS Categories

 

POS categories are custom categories that can be added to help organize your customer database in the Point of Sale.

 

Note: POS categories do not carry over to the online side. 

  1. Click Admin
  2. Click Customers
  3. Click Set Custom Member Categories
  4. Click Add New Category 
  5. Type the description.
  6. Click Ok

 

Once it has been added, you will see the category listed in the list of Custom Customer Categories. Continue this process until you have added all of your categories to the system.

Can a customer belong to two different customer types?

No, a customer can only belong to one customer type at a time. You can add as many customer types as you like if you are looking to gain more specific information from the types. (For example, full member, full member with cart, full member with cart and range.)

 

How can I see what a customer's type was last year?

You have the ability to view an individual's customer type activity if you are interested in viewing past types. To view the history go to Administration > Customers > Search Customer > Customer Type History.
