Cart/Tab Pre-Auth Amount

Cart/Tab pre-auths are only available to courses who are using integrated payment terminals. The pre-auth amount is the amount of money that is held on the customer's card. 

1. Click Admin
2. Click Payment Terminal
3. Click Cart/Tab Pre-Auth Amount
4. Type in the Amount
5. Click Ok

Only staff who have the permission to complete pre-auths would be able to complete a pre-auth transaction should a cart return with damage, customer leave and forget to close their tab, etc. Note: some credit card processors hold the money on the card for up to 48 hours. It is often a good idea not to use a large number for the pre-auth amount as it can interfere with the customer making purchases with their card. Using $1 as the pre-auth amount is enough to ensure that the credit card is valid.
