Adding a Dynamic Price
Dynamic pricing is used to populate your tee sheet with prices automatically to help attract golfers to your unused tee times. You are able to customize the rules for each dynamic price to activate it when you want it. The main factors determining if the price should be activated are the day of the week and time of day, the number of days ahead and the tee sheet usage as a percentage.
A price will be applied on a nine by nine basis. For example, on a standard 18 hole course the price will be applied to the Front nine first. If successful it will not try to apply the price to the back nine. If it can't apply the price to the front nine due to the % utilized already being too high, then it will try to apply the price to the back nine.
How is percent utilized calculated? Prices are applied on an hour by hour basis. We count the number of tee times in the hour. A tee time is only considered not-utilized if it is empty and available on the web. All other times will be considered utilized. For example, if the hour has 7 tee times and one tee time is blocked and 2 others are empty but not available on the web and the other 4 are available on the web but 2 are already booked than percent utilized will be calculated as 5 divided by 7 (71%).
Dynamic Pricing runs 2 times a day (3:45AM & 3:45PM EST), and quit looking once it finds the best match. If you would like to see the effect of your changes without waiting, click Apply Now.
All automatic specials will be applied according to the rules you have configured.
Add the Item into your Online Pricing Items
Online Pricing is available for public green fees and cart fees. Prices are added into Online Pricing through your Point of Sale. It is available for public green fees and cart fees.
- To navigate to Online Pricing, click Administration
- Choose Online Pricing
- Select Pricing Setup
- Select the fee type.
- Click Add
- Step #1: Set the Item Type - All Items set up here are either green fees or cart fees and are associated with either 18 or 9 holes.
- Step #2: Select the item from your Point of Sale. Click Select Item.
- Click Browse POS Departments and select the item from the department the item is kept.
- If the item you are adding is a special, be sure to check off the box beside Special and give the special a description.
- Step #3: Set a Short Description - This is optional. Items can have up to three lines of text providing a short description of the item. The lines are limited to 20 characters each due to the limited space available on the price display.
- Step #4: Set the Details Popup Description - Items can have a popup containing a more detailed description that appears after a golfer clicks on a tee time. This popup only appears if there is a description or the item has extra information to show.
- Step #5: Restrict Items - Items can be restricted for sale to specific group sizes only. This is optional. An example would be a cart special that is only valid for 2 or 4 players.
- If you would like to restrict your item to certain group sizes, simply select the number of players. The buttons will turn blue when they have been selected.
- Once the item has been set up, click Save.
Navigate to Dynamic Pricing
- From your Tee On.com account, click Administration
- Click Online Pricing
- Choose Dynamic Pricing
Add the Dynamic Price
Dynamic prices are applied to your tee sheet based on the following rules:
Rule #1: Tee Time Fee- Tee time fees always include a green fee and a cart fee. If you want to apply a special, be aware that you can apply a green fee special or a cart special to a tee time but not both. Choose the type of price, the number of holes, the green fee and the cart fee for this price.
- Choose the type of price: Regular Price or Green Fee Special or Cart Special.
- Choose the number of holes: 18 Holes or 9 Holes.
- Click Choose Item beside Green Fee.
- Choose the green fee item by clicking it. If your green fee item doesn't show up, make sure it has been linked in online pricing.
- Click Choose Item beside Cart Fee.
- Choose the cart fee item by clicking it. If your cart fee item doesn't show up, make sure it has been linked in online pricing.
Rule #2: Days- The days of the week this price will be active.
- Choose the days of the week this price will be active.
Rule #3: Time Range- The time range (start and end times) this price will be active.
- Choose the start & end times from the drop-down.
Rule #4: Tee Sheet Percent Used - This price will only be active when the tee sheet usage is below the chosen threshold during the time range chosen above. If the tee sheet usage is higher this price will not be applied.
- Choose the threshold which to activate this price from the drop-down.
Rule #5: Tee Times Per Hour - The number of tee times to change this price per hour when the rules are met.
- Select the number of tee times per hour from the drop-down.
Rule #6: Days Ahead- The number of days ahead to activate this price.
- Choose the number of days ahead to activate this price from the drop-down.
Active- Whether or not the special is currently active.
Rule #7: Active During Range (Optional)- This price can be restricted to a specific date range.
- Select the start and end dates by clicking No Start Date & No End Date and choosing the dates from the calendar.
Rule #8: Nines - Choose the nines available to this price. For example, on a standard 18 hole course the price will be applied to the Front nine first. If successful it will not try to apply the price to the back nine. If it can't apply the price to the front nine due to % utilized already being too high, it will try to apply the price to the back nine.
- If you never want the price to be applied to a particular nine, uncheck the nine below.
- Click Save when finished.
