Troubleshooting Multiple Kitchen Chit Printouts

If your kitchen printer is printing multiple copies of the same order, it is usually caused by multiple Tee On Printer App instances or printer configuration issues. Use the troubleshooting steps below to identify and resolve the issue.

Common Causes & Solutions

1. Tee On Printer App Open More Than Once

The most common cause is having multiple instances of the Tee On Printer App running on the main computer.

How to Fix

  • On the main computer, check if the Tee On Printer App is open multiple times.
  • Close all instances of the app.
  • Reopen only a single instance of the Tee On Printer App.

2. Printer Set as Default on Multiple Computers

Kitchen printers should only be configured as the primary/default kitchen printer on one computer.

If multiple computers are configured as primary, duplicate print jobs may be sent to the kitchen printer.

How to Fix

  • Verify which computer is intended to be the main kitchen printing station.
  • On all other computers:
    • Open the Tee On Printer App.
    • Remove the kitchen printer as the primary/default printer.
  • Leave the kitchen printer configured only on the main computer.

3. Item Configured Multiple Times for Kitchen Printing

In some cases, the menu item itself may be configured to print to the kitchen more than once.

How to Fix

  • Open the item setup/configuration in Tee On.
  • Check the kitchen routing or kitchen location settings.
  • Ensure the item is only assigned once to the kitchen printer/location.
  • Remove any duplicate kitchen routing configurations.

4. Hidden Background Instances of the Tee On Printer App

In rare cases, the Tee On Printer App may still be running in the background even after the window has been closed.

These hidden instances can continue sending duplicate print jobs.

How to Fix

  1. Open Task Manager on the main computer.
  2. Look for multiple Tee On Printer App processes running.
  3. End all Tee On Printer App tasks.
  4. Reopen only one instance of the application.
