Setting up Stripe Reader S700/S710

The Stripe Reader S700/S710 is a smart payment terminal that allows you to accept card payments directly through Tee On. Follow the steps below to get your reader connected and ready to use.


Step 1: Charge and Power On the Reader

Before setup, make sure your reader is fully charged.

  1. Connect the included USB-C cable to the port on the left side of the reader.
  2. Plug the other end into the provided power adapter and connect it to a power outlet.
  3. Once charged, press and hold the power button on the right side of the device until the screen turns on.

Power Controls

  • Press the power button once to put the reader to sleep or wake it up.
  • To completely power off the reader, press and hold the power button until the Power Off option appears.

Recommended: Leave your Stripe Reader plugged in and powered on whenever possible. This allows the device to automatically receive important software updates.


Step 2: Open Reader Settings

To access the reader settings:

  1. Swipe right from the left edge of the screen.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Enter the administrator PIN:

From the Settings menu, you can:

  • Connect to or change WiFi networks
  • View network settings
  • Generate a pairing code for Tee On

Step 3: Connect the Reader to the Internet

Your Stripe Reader can connect using either WiFi or Ethernet.

Option A: Connect via WiFi

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Select WiFi Settings.
  3. Choose your network.
  4. Enter the WiFi password if required.
  5. Confirm the connection is successful.

Option B: Connect via Ethernet

For a wired connection:

  1. Connect an Ethernet cable from your router to the Stripe hub.
  2. Connect the hub to power using the built-in USB-C cable.
  3. Use the USB-C cable included with the reader to connect the hub to the reader.
    • The right-angle USB-C connector plugs into the reader.
  4. Verify the reader is charging and connected.

You should see:

  • A charging icon indicating power is being supplied
  • An Ethernet icon in the status bar indicating a network connection

Step 4: Add the Reader to TeeOn

Once the reader is connected to the internet, you'll need to register it in Tee On.

Generate a Pairing Code

  1. Open Settings on the reader.
  2. Enter the admin PIN: 07139
  3. Select Generate Pairing Code.

Register the Reader in TeeOn

  1. In TeeOn, navigate to:
    Settings → Payments → Card Readers
  2. Click New Card Reader.
  3. Enter a descriptive name for the reader, such as:
    • Pro Shop 1
    • Pro Shop 2
    • Kitchen
    • Beverage Cart
  4. Enter the pairing code displayed on the reader into the Registration Code field.
  5. Select the appropriate Register Group that will use this reader.
  6. Click Create.

The reader is now connected and ready to process payments through TeeOn.


Troubleshooting Tips

  • Ensure the reader has an active internet connection before attempting to pair.
  • Verify the pairing code has not expired before entering it into TeeOn.
  • If the reader does not appear online, restart the device and confirm the network connection.
  • Keep the device plugged in whenever possible to ensure software updates are installed automatically.
